Meet our Team of ANALYSTS.
John Kekane
John has a B-Tech (Bachelors of Technology) (VUT) in Chemistry and a National Diploma Quality Management Systems (UNISA).
He has 24 years of experience in a Laboratory environment, specialising in the Minning industry (Manganese, Iron Ore, Platinum Ore , Gold and coal)
John has gained extensive experience in terms of the SANAS standards and requirements and has now been appointed as the Nominated Representative and Technical Signatory for the Mintest Lab.
John is passionate about service delivery and meeting the expectations of the clients. He is a seasoned analyst, with excellent analytical skills and is a true team leader providing support and mentoring to his team members.
Gwendolyn Rygaardt
Gwen has a Nation Diploma in Analytical Chemistry (VUT), with 14 years of experience as a Lab Analyst.
Gwen is focused and determined, she prides herself on her strength and ability to excel in high pressured situations and still be able to be most productive. Gwen has now been appointed as a Technical signatory for the Mintest Lab.
Gwen is a kind and supportive to her colleagues and provides guidance to the junior staff, she is honest, self-disciplined and resilient to change.
Esethu Mgoqi
Esethu has a National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry (WSU).She has experience as a lab technician and had progressed to become an Analyst at Mintest Lab.
Esethu has been nominated as a Technical signatory for the Mintest Lab. She has recently received the award for being the most determined in 2024. Her strengths are working under pressure and working in a team.
She is the heart of the team, always positive and full of smiles. The highlight of Esethu’s career was a publication of her research: Unprecedented alkylation of carboxylic acids by boron trifluoride etherate.
Lesego Tabakeng
Lesego has a National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry (NMU) and an Advanced Diploma in Quality Management (UJ).
He has five years of experience as a lab Analyst, and has attending other short courses to equip himself in a lab environment, i.e. Sampling, Grading room operator, Mineral Processing, Basic Laboratory Techniques and XRF Super Q Version 7.
Lesego has been nominated as a Technical Signatory for six methods i.e. Sampling, Sample Preparation, Moisture, Particle Size Distribution and Potentiometry Fe and Mn for the Mintest Lab. His strengths are teamwork, problem solving and time management. Lesego is resilient and embraces change.
